Political Group Drafts Ben Carson To Run For President
Neurosurgeon Ben Carson grew up in Detroit. Now, Vernon Robinson is helping Carson consider a run for President.
Detroit native Doctor Ben Carson launched an exploratory committee earlier this month to examine a run to become President. Carson has retired as a world-renowned neurosurgeon. But until recently, he showed little interest in running for public office. That changed after the “National Draft Ben Carson for President Committee”convinced him to consider politics as a vocation. Vernon Robinson is the group’s campaign director. He spoke with WDET’s Jerome Vaughn about what may have changed Carson’s mind.
