Ann Arbor Folk Festival Goes Online for its 44th Year

Folk Fest At Home will feature virtual performances from over 20 musicians on January 29-30, plus a special tribute to the late John Prine on Sunday, January 31.

The Ann Arbor Folk Festival began in 1977 as a fundraiser for The Ark to support the preservation of folk, roots, and ethnic music. Now in its 44th year, the annual festival will look a little different than in years past as it shifts to a virtual format due to the pandemic.

“Folk Fest At Home” will feature a blend of over 20 well-known and up-and-coming artists performing 20-40 minute virtual sets on Friday, January 29 and Saturday, January 30. This year, the fest will be extended to Sunday for a special Michigan Tribute to John Prine.
