Concert of Colors Presents: Caribbean Winter Fest

This year, the Concert of Colors expands its programs to grassroots neighborhoods citywide, bringing more free music to the residents of Detroit. On February 22nd at 6pm, Duane Stephenson, global ambassador of Reggae, will play live at the historic Redford Theatre in Detroit presented in partnership with the Caribbean Cultural & Carnival Organization. This special event will celebrate Black History Month with music, culture, and community at one of Detroit’s most beloved venues. The Concert of Colors in Detroit is one of the nation’s longest-running, largest, free and global music festivals. It was founded by Ismael Ahmed, host of WDET’s This Island Earth, in 1993 as a one-day festival and has continued to expand ever since. The festival runs yearly in July and features world class music acts, ethnic food, merchandise vendors, movies, poetry, childrens’ activities, and more.
