The Detroit Lions begin the NFL preseason Thursday night against the New York Jets at Ford Field. One of the players to watch is rookie running back Ameer Abdullah, Detroit’s third round 2015 draft pick from Nebraska. Veteran sportscaster Matt Shepard tells WDET’s Pat Batcheller the Lions’ coaches like Abdullah’s speed and work ethic.
