I was driving in heavy Motown snow, down Jefferson near Belle Isle when during his late-night show, Ed introduced a great Pianist named Monty Alexander. I was already soothed by his voice, knowledge and style, but that moment solidified me as a fan for life. I was coming home from a solo piano gig for Bess Bonnier at what is now The Highlands 72nd floor of Ren Cen.
