Detroit foodies are preparing for a 10-day celebration of the city’s finest cuisine. It’s called Detroit Restaurant Week, where special menus and deals are available at eateries throughout the city. Restaurant Week manager Dana Boyette says it’s a good opportunity to explore and help support the city’s culinary landscape.

“We utilize restaurants that maybe folks aren’t as familiar with, whether you’re a longtime Detroiter or Metro Detroiter. And these restaurants are all, for the vast majority of them, they’re locally owned and operated, that money stays here in Detroit, it’s fine dining only, it’s Detroit only, and it’s dinner only.”

Dana Boyette, Detroit Restaurant Week Event Manager

Boyette says 17 restaurants are participating this year. Detroit Restaurant Week begins Friday, May 1st.
