The Detroit Red Wings lost to the Tampa Bay Lightning 2-0 in Game 7 of their Stanley Cup playoff series Wednesday night, ending their season. It’s the third time in four years that the Wings have been eliminated in the first round of the playoffs. Helene St. James covers the team for the Detroit Free Press. She tells WDET’s Pat Batcheller that this year’s early exit is more disappointing than last year’s, when injuries were a bigger problem.
