In The Groove is CultureShift’s award-winning series that talks to creatives from all walks of life about the music that means the most to them.

On this edition of In The Groove, CultureShift’s Anthony Spak speaks with comedian Fred Armisen.

Armisen says the first two records he bought with his own money were “Eat to the Beat” by Blondie and “End of the Century” by The Ramones.

“I grew up in New York and there was already an awareness of what I still consider to be punk rock, but it was also, like, new wave. I remember seeing Blondie on SNL. They were starting to play some Ramones on the radio. I was so excited about how alive this music was,” he says.
