WDET presents Ann Delisi’s Essential Conversations podcast.
Hosted by Detroit storyteller Ann Delisi, this interview series recognizes the creative spirit of local and national celebrities.
In each episode, Delisi sits down with local and nationally recognized professionals in the fields of music, news and the arts for insightful conversations exploring their work and inspiration.
In episode four, Delisi speaks with Pete Souza, the Official White House Photographer for the Obama Administration. Souza talks about his access to sensitive information, his favorite day in the White House, and the night they caught Osama Bin Laden.
“There’s this period of time when suddenly you’re in the Oval Office,” says Souza. “That just took a little getting used to really on both our parts. By the first few months….I was always there. Nobody really paid attention to me when stuff was going on…which is how you want it if you’re trying to capture these candid moments.”
