With the help of a $40,000 Motor City Match grant, a new hybrid music venue called Spot Lite — think part live entertainment, bar and cafe meets art gallery — will become a tenant at the headquarters of arts-centric publishing company 1xRun.

Expected to open in January 2019, the venue will help 1xRun explore new routes of revenue for the art gallery model after closing their Inner State Gallery in Eastern Market and moving the 1xRun headquarters to the city’s McDougall-Hunt neighborhood near the Heidelberg Project last year.

1xRun will host an open house of their new digs on Friday, May 4th.
