New Soul Sunday’s playlist for March 15, 2015 featuring songs from Curtis Mayfield, Janet Jackson & Ray Charles
This edition of New Soul Sunday features the music and influence of Curtis Mayfield in celebration of the 16th anniversary of his induction into the Rock & Roll Music Hall of Fame. We’ll listen to a couple of choice cuts and a few healthy “samples” of his work, and briefly revisiting the evening and artist. We’ll also enjoy a couple of new tracks including tunes from Van Hunt and Emily, enjoy tracks from favorites like Janet Jackson and Amel Larrieux, and try to figure out if today is the 60th anniversary of when soul music hit the mainstream.
