This week on MI Local, I played songs that spanned ten unique genres, each showcasing new music from local artists, and many of whom have shows coming up this weekend. We had some prog, indie, dance-pop, hip-hop, and even comic book-themed country rock.

I also preview this year’s Concert of Colors, playing two tracks by artists who are featured among that festival’s stacked line-up.

Meanwhile, two notable hip-hop artists — Noveliss and Hir-O — have joined forces on a new collaboration, with an album release party scheduled at the Old Miami in the Cass Corridor this Thursday. I also preview an upcoming performance by the pop group known as soundslikeotto this Friday at the Loving Touch. in Ferndale by playing their dazzling cover of Cyndi Lauper’s “Time After Time.”

See the playlist below and listen to the show for two weeks on-demand after it airs.
