Signal Quartet

Signal Quartet

On this episode of Visions, my playlist ranges from Archie Shepp to Linda May Han Oh — and so many things in between.

I feature classic music from Grant Green, Mel Lewis and Thad Jones, Hank Mobley, Donald Byrd, Bobby Hutcherson and Joe Zawinul. I also play some newer releases from bassist Linda May Han Oh, Cassandra Wilson and Meshell Ndegeocello.

Finally, I feature Detroit-made music from Louis Jones — whose EP Live at Cliff Bells hit all streaming platforms today (July 9) — and an unreleased track from Signal Quartet, who will perform a string of shows at the Dirty Dog Jazz Cafe July 11-13.

Check out the playlist below and listen to the episode on-demand for two weeks after it airs using the media player above.
