In The Groove: DJ Minx brings deep house delicacies, plus Sun Ra, Marvin Gaye + Rock Steady Disco exclusives
Listen to “In the Groove” with Ryan Patrick Hooper weekdays from noon-3 p.m. ET on 101.9 WDET.
I have seen the light and it is DJ Minx. Consider my life housed, because the set that Minx put together for In The Groove was spectacular. I’m going to have that on repeat for a long, long time.
You can catch DJ Minx at Movement 2024 on Monday, May 27, starting at 8 p.m. on the Pyramid stage. In fact, DJ Minx is curating the entire day at that stage as part of her House Your Life residency. Click the audio above to hear DJ Minx’s full set.
It was also Sun Ra’s birthday! And Marvin Gaye’s “What’s Going On” was released this week back in 1971! And the fine folks at Rock Steady Disco dropped off a fresh piece of vinyl for their 10th anniversary — so hot off the press that the record was still warm.
Enjoy some In The Groove exclusives courtesy of that Detroit label from Andrés and Blair French.
