September marks Design Core Detroit’s 13th annual Detroit Month of Design. DCD promotes and supports design-driven businesses in their role to help Detroit’s economy grow, and Detroit remains the only UNESCO-Designed Design City in the U.S.

This year’s theme is “United by Design,” highlighting designs that strengthen community resources and encourage mutual aid. There will be over 80 events throughout the month, including a silent disco and pop-up shops highlighting the uniqueness and creativity of the city.

Kiana Wenzell is the Co-Executive Director of Design Core Detroit. She joined CultureShift to chat about what we can expect from this year’s Month of Design.
