Detroit Today: Michigan is constructing a new mental health facility in Northville

The new $325 million dollar facility will be constructed on the grounds of a former psychiatric facility.

Over the last decade, we’ve had far-reaching conversations about mental health. We now discuss it in the context of our schools; we talk about it as it relates to gun violence; we explore the issue around the ideas of loneliness and isolation that many Americans feel.

Mental health came up again when it was recently announced that the state of Michigan will be constructing a new $325 million psychiatric hospital in Northville on the grounds of an older psychiatric facility it’s meant to replace.
