State Lifts Most Lane Restrictions For Weekend Travel

The Michigan Department of Transportation is giving road workers and drivers a break for Memorial Day weekend. The state plans to suspend construction from 3 p.m. Friday until 6 a.m. Tuesday, May 31. MDOT spokesperson Diane Cross tells WDET’s Pat Batcheller lane restrictions will be removed in most work zones, but some, such as the closure of southbound I-275 between I-696 and Five Mile Road, have to remain in place.
