Dry Weather Increases Fire Risk Up North

DNR says wildfires could spread quickly under present conditions.

Dry weather has increased the risk of fires in northern Michigan. The National Weather Service issued a red flag warning for several counties in the northern Lower Peninsula Tuesday. The agency says a chance of rain and thunderstorms through Memorial Day should reduce the fire threat up north. Jim Fisher is the DNR’s Fire Supervisor for Forest Resources.
