Grammy Award-winning musician Carlos Santana is recovering after collapsing onstage at a concert in Clarkston Tuesday night.

The legendary guitarist was reportedly overcome by heat exhaustion and dehydration.

Santana was well into his show at the Pine Knob Music Theater in Clarkston when he sat down on a drum riser and fell backwards.

He was treated by medical personnel for roughly 20 minutes while the crowd was told to pray for him.

But he waved to the audience as he was taken by stretcher to a local hospital where his management said he was doing well.

Santana posted on Facebook early Wednesday morning he was “taking it easy.”

“Forgot to eat and drink water,” he wrote, “so I dehydrated and passed out. Blessings and miracles to you all.”

Santana has won numerous Grammys since he burst into the national consciousness with a searing mix of rock and Latin music at the original Woodstock festival.

The 74-year-old underwent an unscheduled heart procedure in December, but he was soon back on stage and has been touring for several months.

It was not immediately known when Santana would resume his tour, although Wednesday’s show at The Pavilion at Star Lake in Burgettstown, Pennsylvania, has been postponed. He and his band have been touring with Earth, Wind & Fire.

The tour has 21 dates left through late August before Santana — the artist behind such hits as “Oye Como Va″ and ”Black Magic Woman″ — is scheduled to head back to Las Vegas for his residency at the House of Blues.
