Detroit Lions End Poor Season on Winning Note
The Detroit Lions made changes at mid-season and began winning, but the outlook for next year remains unclear.
The Detroit Lions have finished a disappointing season with a victory over the division rival Chicago Bears.
Detroit held off a late comeback attempt by Chicago en route to a 24-20 win, the Lions third in a row.
Detroit quarterback Matthew Stafford threw three touchdown passes, the Lions intercepted Bears quarterback Jay Cutler three times and Detroit kicker Matt Prater booted a 59-yard field goal, the longest in team history.
After winning only one of its first eight games this season Detroit was victorious in six of its final eight, following a shake-up in the Lions front office and coaching staff.
Now a host of questions face the team in the offseason.
The Lions must choose a new general manager and decide whether to retain Head Coach Jim Caldwell and several high-priced players, including star receiver Calvin Johnson.
