CultureShift: Planet Ant celebrates 30 years of laughs, improv in Hamtramck
The hub for improv, stand-up and original theater productions is celebrating the milestone with special events this weekend.
Chicago has the comedy hub Second City, which has produced more “Saturday Night Live” stars that we can care to list here.
And here in the Motor City, we’ve got Planet Ant. It’s helped transform homegrown talent into stars, like Keegan Michael-Key, Marc Evan Jackson, Sam Richardson, Tim Robinson, Jamie Moyer and many more.
The hub for improv, stand-up and original theater productions is celebrating their 30th anniversary in Hamtramck this weekend, including a massive variety show on Friday, Nov. 3, hosted by Moyer (Modern Family, Bob’s Burgers). Tickets are available here for the two night celebration on Friday and Saturday.
Listen: CultureShift’s Ryan Patrick Hooper speaks with Mike McGettigan, director of improv training at Planet Ant Theatre, about the importance of the performing arts hub in Hamtramck
