Hispanic Heritage Month, running Sept. 15 through Oct. 15, is a time to recognize and celebrate the many contributions and diversity of each community within the American Latino cultural umbrella.

Wayne State University Professor Dr. Jorge Chinea, distinguished service professor and academic director at the Center for Latino/a and Latin American Studies, joined CultureShift host Tia Graham last week to talk about the history of Latino presence in Michigan and why Detroit became a mainstay for so many families.
