Executive Director Mark Crain says the fair began as a way to showcase local entrepreneurs who trained through the organization.

“And then we started building on it [DREAM Street Fair]. We got to add some performances, we got to add a basketball tournament to bring out some young folks, we got to add children’s activities,” Crain says.

The free event will feature food, jewelry and clothing. Additionally, free resources and health screenings will be provided to those facing homelessness in collaboration with Islamic Relief USA’s Day of Dignity.

DREAM Street Fair takes place this Saturday from noon-8 p.m. at 13240 Woodrow Wilson Street in Detroit. Visit dreamofdetroit.org/streetfair for details.
