Potential storms could bring flooding to southeast Michigan

There is a possibility of thunderstorms that could bring damaging 60 mph gusts of wind.

The National Weather Service says there is a risk of severe weather for the Detroit Metro area. A flood watch is in effect from late this afternoon until late tonight for multiple counties including Wayne and Oakland.

There is a possibility of thunderstorms and that could bring damaging 60 mph gusts of wind and floods. Residents in this area should be prepared for travel issues caused by flooded roads.

High winds could bring more power outages to the area. Severe weather on Wednesday caused 80,828 DTE Energy customers to still be without power at the time of this writing.

There is also an air quality alert in effect for most of southeast Michigan.
