‘God Said Give ‘Em Drum Machines’ returns to Detroit for Movement weekend
Washington Hill Pictures will screen their magnum opus, ‘God Said Give ‘Em Drum Machines’ at the Michigan Science Center on Friday, May 26.
God Said Give ‘Em Drum Machines is making a return to the birthplace of Techno this Movement weekend.
Washington Hill Pictures will screen their magnum opus at the Michigan Science Center on Friday, May 26 from 7-10 p.m. The screening is sponsored by Roland and will be followed by a meet and greet with the filmmaking team. Then on Saturday, May 27, the production team will have a Documentary Filmmaking Discussion and Workshop at the Detroit Historical Museum from 1-3 p.m. The team also gathered all of the information from the documentary and created a coffee table book to accompany the film, which is available for pre-order now.
Jennifer Washington is the film’s executive producer. She joined CultureShift to talk about the more than a decade of hard work that went into capturing the groove, and what it means to bring the story back home.
