The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm watch for the city from noon Wednesday to noon Thursday. Detroit could see a mix of rain, snow, sleet and freezing rain, with up to 0.25″ of ice possible.

That would make travel on area roads treacherous and could lead to broken tree branches and downed power lines. Oakland, Macomb and Washtenaw counties have ice storm warnings until 4 a.m. Thursday, while areas farther north are under winter storm warnings.
