Listen to the Detroit Jazz Festival on WDET Labor Day Weekend
View the full lineup and schedule and tune in on-air or online all weekend long to hear live Jazz Fest performances.
The Detroit Jazz Festival presented by Rocket Mortgage returns to the city Labor Day weekend.
In light of the current COVID-19 surge, largely driven by the delta variant, festival organizers have opted for an all-virtual format. The festival will be broadcast in full on WDET (available on-air and online), and will also be livestreamed on the Detroit Jazz Festival’s Facebook, YouTube, app and website.
WDET has a strong relationship and long history with co-broadcasting the Jazz Festival to the local community, dating back to the early 1980s when the festival was called the Montreux Detroit Jazz Festival. This year, the festival’s roster features live performances from jazz legends like Herbie Hancock and Artist-in-Residence Dee Dee Bridgewater.
“We are proud to partner with the Detroit Jazz Festival to broadcast live from virtual concert stages in downtown Detroit straight to your ears,” says WDET General Manager Mary Zatina. “WDET and the Detroit Jazz Festival stand together, determined to make the music and deliver it free to all in the Detroit region.”
