Volunteer With WDET’s Summer Cooler Call-Out

WDET’s Summer Cooler Call-Out is an opportunity to work (virtually) with Ann Delisi, Jon Moshier and General Manager Mary Zatina.

Pineapple Summer Fun

WDET is making headway on our big $2 million fundraising goal. We have $1.5 million left to go.

Now we’re looking for a few volunteers to help us with our Summer Cooler Call-Out on Monday night. It’s an opportunity to work (virtually) with some of your favorite hosts from the station, including Ann Delisi, Jon Moshier and General Manager Mary Zatina.

Much of our effort this summer is focused on recruiting new members to add to the number of people supporting WDET. For this event, volunteers will make 1000 calls to potential new members in one evening.

Sound like a heavy lift? Not if people like you each make 10 calls. Just ten.

Here’s How It Works

  • Sign-up here to participate in the Summer Cooler Call-Out.
  • Each team will meet on Zoom on Monday, August 10th at 7:00 pm. We will help you every step of the way with instructions, talking points, a Q&A and more.
  • Then all 100 of us will gather to celebrate our success at the end of the evening.

Phone the friends you’ve talked with about stories you’ve heard on WDET. How about those acquaintances who never miss Detroit Today and comment on Stephen’s Henderson’s guests? Who shares your love of CultureShift, Essential Music or Ismael Ahmed’s This Island Earth

The date is Monday, August 10th from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm. You can participate from the safety and comfort of your own home. Ten of our own program hosts and key staff will each lead a team of 10. With your help, we can reach 1,000 new members in one night!

Because every good turn leads to another, every gift your friends make will be added together to match the gifts of more new members during our Fall Fundraiser. That’s twice the good turn from one small question: “Will you join me on Team DET?”
