What in the World? Pop up Food Festival Serves Cuisine from Around the Globe
The festival is happening this Saturday and Sunday at Planet Ant Theatre in Hamtramck.

From sushi to tacos and everything in between, food pop-ups are all the rage right now in Metro Detroit.
And this weekend there’s a chance to try them all.
Co-founded by Nick George, known as Doctor Sushi, and Carlos Parisi of the Aunt Nee’s Chip Company, the Pop-Up Food Festival is happening this Saturday and Sunday at Planet Ant Theatre in Hamtramck.
Over 20 local vendors will be there serving food and drinks from all over the world. On Sunday, the vendors will serve their take on Mother’s Day brunch.
WDET’s Gus Navarro speaks with Parisi to find out more.
“You’ll walk in and the first thing that’s going to hit you will be the smells, just like any good pop-up,” says Parisi. “We’ve got 22 pop-ups signed up. Everybody’s got at least one vegan option too so this way we can appeal to a larger crowd”
