Double Winter and Teener at UFO Factory
Double Winter’s kaleidoscopic indie rock is equivalent to the changing seasons. Within a 3-minute song, they’ll transition through a gamut of subgenres, never leaving the galaxy of indie-rock, but adding in experimental takes on throwback 50’s rock, psychedelic post-punk, and some atmospheric pop. Friday, they’ll be paired with Teener, a formidable four-piece noise-rock band that would please anyone who enjoys a bit of intensity, a bit of confrontational commentary, and cathartic discordance. The Chicago band Pledge Drive is touring in to join this show at the UFO Factory.
The Imaginatron’s Spring Cleaning at Ghost Light
The Imaginatron puts on more than a show or a conventional ‘rock concert’. They’re performance is very much about energy; conjuring energy, moving energy, banishing energy. It’s exercising, and it’s exorcizing. It focuses your mind and spirit. It feels ancient, but it also could open up portals to the future… This non-stop musical séance will be led by a roaming lead singer who is sure to get everyone in the room involved in this post-winter cleanse. This is a show ideal for anyone who’s eager to see something new, fresh, and maybe even strange. Come refresh your perspective, with The Imaginatron Friday at the Ghost Light.

Steffanie Christi’an’s Album Release with Dean Beanz & the Factory at Otus Supply
Steffanie Christi’an is a singer, songwriter, and performer based here in Detroit; she has a commanding stage presence and focuses the most ferocious energies of rock n roll, blues, funk and soul. She’s independently released four EPs and her fans have eagerly been awaiting this new album, It’s Complicated. Christi’an has been making music her entire life, but her phoenix-like energy, both on a recording and on a stage, continue to hit new peaks. Christi’an will be joined at Otus Supply by producer/musician Dean Beanz, leading The Factory.
Justin Walker Benefit with Isles of ESP, The High Strung, and more at Ant Hall
Justin Walker has been a mainstay on Detroit’s underground rock scene for 13 years, but he’s been absent the previous 3 months due to his steady recovery and rehabilitation from a stroke. Walker is a guitarist and singer, leads the band The Crossguards, and has worked with and collaborated on numerous projects with other bands and notable artists. Frank Woodman is hosting this benefit, put together by Ant Hall and Brian Rozman, the latter being the lead singer of another band that Walker plays in known as Carjack. The High Strung wukk ve at this show, along with longtime Detroit rock ensembles like Duende, the aforementioned Carjack, Dark Red, Oblisk, ZZvava, EnD, Kommander, and the new group featuring Margaret Dollrod and Danny Kroha known as Dawg Love. His good friends and musicians Ayinde Zuri, Zenas ‘The Nihilist,’ and Johnie Penn are DJing.
