In the last decade, the Aunt Nee’s chip company has become a mainstay here in Detroit.
Based in Eastern Market, the chips and salsa company started in 2008 after Patrick Schwager and his family fell on hard times.
As a way to make money, Schwager and his parents, who had always made salsa as a hobby, began selling it at farmers markets around Metro Detroit.
Today, Aunt Nee’s products can be found throughout the city and all over Michigan.
