Playwright And MacArthur Award Winner Dominique Morisseau Returns Home To Detroit For “Pipeline”
Morisseau joins Detroit Today with Stephen Henderson to talk about her play and career.
Dominique Morisseau is a world-renowned playwright who was awarded a MacArthur Genius award this year. She’s also a native of Detroit whose work has explored many layers of life in the city, past and present, and dives deep into swirl of race and class that influences so much of how we think and interact with one another.
Morisseau returned to Detroit this fall to see a performance of her stage play “Pipeline” at the Detroit Public Theater. The play is about a high school teacher in the city, her teenage son, and their fight through an education system that is often working against them.
She stopped by Detroit Today with Stephen Henderson during that visit to talk about the play and her career.
