Funny Guys: Steve Martin & Martin Short Bring Touring Variety Show to Windsor
The comedy legends are bringing their act to Windsor.

Steve Martin and Martin Short have been doing comedy together for decades.
Both comedians rose to prominence in the 1970s during the early days of Saturday Night Live. They also worked together on two classic comedies—The Three Amigos and Father of the Bride.
Now, Martin and Short are bringing their comedy show, “An Evening You Will Forget for the Rest of Your Life,” to The Colosseum at Ceasars Windsor on Saturday, November 3rd.
The performance includes music, movie clips and anecdotes about living a life in show business.
WDET’s Ryan Patrick Hooper speaks with the two comedians about their upcoming show and why it doesn’t revolve around politics.
“My original show…was really rooted in vaudeville of the past,” says Martin. “I was making balloon animals. I was playing the banjo. It was different than what was going on because what was going on was, in most cases, was very political. There’s something good about fundamental show business.”
For Short, even within these highly divisive times, there’s an advantage to talking about something other than politics.
“We’ve never lived in an era where literally it’s wall-to-wall political views. I think a respite from that, no matter how political you are, must be a nice break from it all,” he says.
