Chef Max Hardy Brings Caribbean Flavors Home to Detroit

Chef Max Hardy has been turning heads in the culinary world for years. Now he’s bringing his signature Caribbean-style dishes back home to Detroit.
On Friday, September 14th, Chef Hardy will be participating in The Intersection, a discussion series hosted by MOCAD and the Science Gallery Lab Detroit about the connection between art and science.
Along with preparing the event’s meal, Chef Hardy will be joined in conversation by writer and filmmaker dream hampton and hip hop drummer, author, and foodie, Questlove.
WDET’s Gus Navarro speaks with Chef Hardy about coming back to Detroit and the menu he’s planning.
“Detroit has always been home, you know, it’s where I’m from,” he says. “I wanted to come back and bring some of that influence that I had from Miami and New York…back to the city I love dearly.”
Hardy says he was also interested in returning to Detroit to be a part of the work being done between urban farms and the culinary world to address food insecurity in the city.
