Kyle’s Challenge Community Impact Campaign Recipients Announced

Kyle’s Challenge is a community giveback initiative started by two generous WDET donors, Gary Cone and Aimee Cowher, in memory of their son Kyle.

Preschool Children

Gary Cone and Aimée Cowher, founders of The Kyle John Foundation believe in the impact of WDET and our collective ability to make a real difference in our region. They made a very generous gift to WDET as a challenge to get you involved in a Community Impact Campaign that can improve the lives of thousands of young people in Southeast Michigan. WDET listeners stepped up to meet Kyle’s Challenge and nominated deserving youth-focused non-profit organizations to receive promotional support on WDET.  The group of listener-nominated organizations were qualified based on their modest budgets and the service they provided for the voting phase of Kyle’s Challenge.

The following youth-focused organizations received the most votes in our online poll:

Second Mile Center

Minds Matter

Creative Movement Brazil

They will each join Soar Detroit as the new Kyle’s Challenge recipients. Each organization will receive a free on-air awareness campaign on WDET valued at $5,000!  Learn more about Kyle’s Challenge
