“To me there’s no better way to celebrate Kyle’s life than to help kids.”

Kyle’s Mom and WDET Member, Aimee Cowher

What is Kyle’s Challenge?

Gary Cone and Aimée Cowher, founders of The Kyle John Foundation believe in the impact of WDET and our collective ability to make a real difference in our region. They have made a very generous gift to WDET as a challenge to get you involved in a Community Impact Campaign that can improve the lives of thousands of young people in Southeast Michigan.

WDET listeners stepped up to meet Kyle’s Challenge and nominated deserving youth-focused non-profit organizations to receive promotional support on WDET.  The group of listener-nominated organizations were qualified based their modest budgets and the service they provide for the voting phase of Kyle’s Challenge.  That’s where YOU come in!

In all, each of five organizations will receive $5,000 of free airtime on WDET.  Gary and Aimée chose Soar Detroit for promotion and YOU get to decide the remaining four organizations!  Soar Detroit will kick off the Kyle’s Challenge on-air awareness campaign on June 25!
