A Meteor!!

Last night a suspected fireball meteor exploded through the atmosphere over Southeast Michigan. In the moments after, Metro Detroiters flooded social media networks to talk about their experience witnessing the meteor.
The meteor caused a bright flash and loud bang a few minutes after 8:00pm.
“Usually meteors are very, very tiny… this one might have been a little bit bigger [and] as it entered the atmosphere it caused quite a show,” says WDET Morning Edition host Pat Batcheller.
The meteor did not cause damage on the ground in Southeast Michigan, but registered on the Richter scale the same as a magnitude 2.0 earthquake on the surface of the earth. That isn’t enough to be felt, but many people reported on social media a rumbling within their house or other buildings.
