New Report: Just 13 Percent of Kids in SE Michigan Get Enough Activity

How important is it to you that your kids are physically active every day? Do you insist that they pick and practice a sport, no matter how good or competitive they may be?

A new report from the Ralph C. Wilson Jr. Foundation shows physical activity is important to the vast majority of parents in southeast Michigan, but only 13 percent of youth in the region are physically active an hour or more each day.

“There’s a lot of reasons for it,” Wilson Foundation President & CEO Dave Egner tells Detroit Today host Stephen Henderson. 

“It’s a coming health crisis,” he says.
