Number of Michiganders being diagnosed continues to increase
The number of Michigan residents living with Alzheimers is projected to increase nearly 25% over the next 10 years. About 180,000 Michiganders are currently living with the disease. Most cases of Alzheimers are diagnosed after age 65. Doctors say plaque build-up in the brain causes symptoms of the disease. Theresa Gierzynski is Program Coordinator at the Greater Michigan Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association. She tells discusses the top 10 symptoms with WDET’s Amy Miller
