UofM Builds Sun Powered Car

The UofM Solar Car Team is showcasing its 13th solar powered car at the auto show.

The University of Michigan’s 13th solar car is making an appearance at the 2017 North American International Auto Show. The university’s Solar Car Team has been building sun-powered vehicles since 1990. They race the vehicles in the American Solar Challenge…a cross-country rally for solar cars. The team has won the challenge nine times. Betty Wan is an engineer on the team. She tells WDET’s Bre’Anna Tinsley how the team has made it this far.
