Potters Market Returns to Southfield

Annual art sale features many local potters and their wares.

Potters from across Metro Detroit gather for their annual market sale at the Southfield Pavilion Dec. 1-4, 2016. Now in its 41st year, the Potters Market features more than 135 artists and thousands of pieces such as vases, tiles, mugs, and pots. WDET’s Pat Batcheller spoke with publicist Linda Ashley and artist Jan Bostwick. Ashley says the market is different from other art events because it’s just pottery, and the items for sale are relatively cheaper. Shoppers can buy items from a bulk area, where prices range from $5 to $30. A special preview is scheduled from 6 to 9 p.m. on Dec. 1 at the Southfield Pavilion, 26000 Evergreen, inside the city’s civic center. Click on the audio player to hear the conversation.
