The Detroit Lions meet the division rival Minnesota Vikings for the annual Thanksgiving Day game at Ford Field with first place in the NFC North at stake.

That’s something few people would have predicted at the start of the season.

But both the Lions and Vikings have proven unexpectedly resilient this year.

This Turkey Day marks the first time the two teams have played each other on Thanksgiving since 1995.

Detroit won a 44-to-38 shoot-out on the final play of that game, as star receiver Herman Moore took a turn on defense and knocked down a likely Minnesota touchdown.

Moore talked with WDET’s Quinn Klinefelter about that game and his prediction for this year’s holiday contest.
