Burger Brawl is Back: Eastern Market Hosts Competition This Saturday
Who’s burger reigns supreme? The 2016 Detroit Burger Brawl is back with more than 13 competitors!
Just ask your favorite chef and they’ll tell you Fairway Packing in Eastern Market is one of the most revered meat distributors in town. A few years ago, the fine folks at Fairway decided to host a burger competition. It was very popular. Maybe too much. After a decent two-year-run of the Detroit Burger Brawl, which saw impressive wins from One Eyed Betty’s (Ferndale) and Townhouse (Birmingham/Detroit), they quickly put the competition on the back burner to focus on their main business.
Now, culinary scene staple Scott Rutterbush of Dine Drink Detroit, no stranger to running all kinds of food events around the region, is collaborating with Fairway to re-launch the Burger Brawl as a bigger, better, more inclusive event.
