Wayne State University Holds Second Annual “Baroudeur”

The bicycle ride through Detroit raises money for student scholarships.

Wayne State University is holding its second annual “Baroudeur” Saturday. That’s the school’s bike ride through Detroit, which raises money for student scholarships.

The event is the idea Wayne State President M. Roy Wilson.  He spoke with WDET’s Jerome Vaughn.

Wilson readily admits he’s an avid cyclist.

The 100-mile ride starts at 7 a.m. Saturday.  Shorter rides start later in the morning.

Baroudeur is the French word for warrior.
