I-275: One Side Done, One to Go
MDOT finishes southbound reconstruction, will close northbound lanes next.
The Michigan Department of Transportation says it plans to close northbound I-275 after the morning rush on Tuesday, July 5. It’s the second phase of the $75 million reconstruction between the I-696 interchange in Novi and Five Mile Road in Livonia. MDOT closed southbound 275 in May and reopened it on July 1. Spokesperson Diane Cross tells WDET’s Pat Batcheller the work on the northbound side should be less complicated than it was on the southbound side. Cross says the entire project should be finished by mid-September. Click on the audio player to hear the conversation.
