MSU Not a #1 Seed? Madness!

Spartans draw 2nd seed in NCAAs, Michigan must play its way in.

Michigan State won the Big Ten men’s basketball tournament Sunday, which many observers thought would secure a number-one seed in the 2016 NCAA tournament. Instead the Spartans (29-5, No. 2 in the AP rankings) enter the field as the second seed in the Midwest regional, and will face Conference USA tournament champion Middle Tennessee in St. Louis, Missouri on Friday. Michigan (22-12), which beat Big Ten regular season champion Indiana in the conference tournament, will take on Tulsa in one of the four “play-in” games. The winner would earn the 11th seed in the East regional, and take on Notre Dame in Brooklyn, New York on Friday.
