Greening of Detroit Bioswale Project Launched to Ease Flooding

The bioswale is designed to absorb water into the ground, so it doesn’t enter the sewer system.

The Greening of Detroit recently finished a project on the west side of Detroit called a bioswale.  Its purpose is to help relieve flooding in the area by absorbing water through the ground that would normally go in to the sewer system.  Dean Hay is the Director of Green Infrastructure for the Greening of Detroit.  He spoke with WDET’s Jerome Vaughn about the project.
