Detroit Lions Face Raiders and Controversy

The Detroit Lions are coming off a big win at Green Bay but also dealing with controversy off the field.

Lions

Fresh from the team’s first victory in Green Bay since 1991, the Detroit Lions are home this weekend to face the talented, young Oakland Raiders.

In the past week the Lions have hired a new president and faced controversy over whether team officials tried to force a broadcast station to stop criticizing the on-field product.

Now Detroit focuses on football and an Oakland Raider team with legitimate playoff ambitions, courtesy of young quarterback Derek Carr and standout rookie receiver Amari Cooper.

They’ll face a Lions defensive secondary battling multiple injuries.

But Detroit has its own passing threats with quarterback Matthew Stafford and receiver Golden Tate coming off of a good game last week against the Packers.

The Lions were a bit mistake prone at Green Bay.

But Oakland was badly beaten in the Raiders last game against the Vikings.
