Anti-Gay Marriage County Clerk Kim Davis Released From Jail
Is Kim Davis brave for standing up for what she believes in, or is she proof that America has a lot of growing up to do?

Rowan County Clerk Kim Davis is to be released from jail in Grayson, Kentucky nearly a week after Davis was jailed for refusing a judge’s order to issue marriage licenses, including to same-sex couples.
“After remanding Defendant Davis to the custody of the U.S. Marshal, five of her six deputy clerks stated under oath that they would comply with the Court’s Order and issue marriage licenses to all legally eligible couples,” an order issued by U.S. District Judge David Bunning said.
Ryan Felton, a reporter for The Guardian, speaks with Stephen Henderson on Detroit Today about Rowan County, Kentucky clerk Kim Davis, who was arrested recently for denying marriage licenses to same sex couples. Here’s some of what they had to say:
Kim Davis’ husband: We’ve heard a lot about Kim Davis and her refusal to give same sex couples marriage licenses. But what about her husband? Does he have anything to say? “They’re very much cut from the same cloth,” Felton says. The husband carried signs that had ‘Welcome to Sodom and Gomorrah’ written on it.
Her religion: When she was elected last year as a Democrat, Davis’ religion and her beliefs were never known. A year later, couples who voted for her are now filing suit against her because of her refusal to issue marriage licenses for same-sex couples. Some callers believed that because she’s an elected official, she should uphold the law. Her opinions should be kept out of the workplace.
