Drivers Can Now Fight Parking Tickets Online

Drivers in Detroit can now contest parking tickets online.

Parking Meter

Drivers can now upload pictures online to help plead their case when fighting a parking ticket in Detroit. It’s part of the new parking meter system in the city implemented in late July.

Municipal Parking Director Norman White says fighting tickets at a local office can be time-consuming.

“You would report there in the morning and have to wait until everyone’s case is heard before you are called up,” White says. “And I’m sure we all can find something better to do with our time. What we are hoping to do, those who are pretty efficient with their phones can use the online parkdetroit.us system, they can go online, and that’s it.”

White says a letter with a ruling can be sent to the driver as soon as the next day.

The website to challenge parking tickets is parkdetroit.us.
